Hub City: An Interdisciplinary Exploration of History, Art, and Identity: Artist Talk
February 3, 2026 | 3:30 - 4:30PM
Location: VISER Lab (Nancy Thompson Learning Commons)
Hub City is a powerful multidisciplinary project by Jaymes Jorsling that combines a visual art exhibition with a stage play and music. The work interrogates America’s racial traumas through the lens of art, family legacy, and spiritual reckoning. Centered on the overlooked history of slavery and freedom in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the exhibition reimagines the city as a historic “hub” of both bondage and liberation, exploring how this duality resonates in today’s Black experience. In this artist talk and reception Jaymes Jorsling will be going more in depth on his creative process as well as offering viewers the opportunity to view and pick his brain about individual pieces.
