Looking Through the Lens

November 2, 2022 | 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Jacqueline Silberbush is an American artist living and working in New York. Silberbush uses a range of traditional photographic practices to show how personal biography intertwines with national narrative through recurring themes of destruction, rebirth, and renewal. During the summer of 2022. Silberbush was given an opportunity to document the Russo-Ukrainian War where she worked in the western regions of Ukraine such as Lviv, Kiev, Irpin, Bucha, and on the Polish-Ukrainian border. During this lecture style event, Silberbush will discuss her photographic work and her first-hand experience on the impact of war. This program aligns with the current exhibition, Aftermath: War is Only Half the Story, on view in the Human Rights Institute Gallery
